How to exclude items from a search

I want to be able to search for "-tag:weak" in the "Weak Passwords" folder, in order to exclude known (tagged) weak passwords, e.g. for shared logins on internal websites. I can't get this to work, not with a minus character, a NOT operator,...

The same would come in handy in the "Duplicated Passwords" folder.

  • Hi @KwiekeMarter,

At the moment, there isn't a way to do this. 1Password only supports basic textual search, there's no operators, filters, nor multiple words support.

Advanced search options is something we want to add 1Password on Windows but I don't have a timeframe on this.

    OK, thanks for the response.
I worked around it by "visually tagging" those items: I prefixed all such weak passwords with an underscore, so that I can immediately see which ones are new—and can possibly be revised.

  • That's a great idea, that would work as well.

    You're welcome.
