Hi,

I'm running the 1Password Windows 10 Beta v2016.3.2000. I've just deleted my previous version, and updated to the new one from the Windows Store.

I've noticed a few bugs/missing features and am just wondering if they've been reported? I'm using my family account with the beta:

  1. Favourites aren't showing for any of my vaults. I know I have favourites as they are displayed in 1Password for Mac.
  2. Some categories are missing - I think this is being dealt with though?
  3. Rich icons aren't showing for any of my vaults. However, they're turned on in settings.
  4. I've just tried to create a new Software License item. However, no default fields (like version, license key) are setup for the new item. Is this something that still needs to be implemented?
  5. The beta is set to use Windows Hello when available. When I then set the app to Auto-lock after 1-minute and minimize it to my taskbar (I have it pinned there), when I activate it again after the minute is up, I'm asked to enter my master password again instead of my 4-digit pin. Is this a problem with the beta, or maybe I don't have Windows Hello setup correctly? I have set a pin code in Windows Sign-in settings.

Many thanks, Paul

  • Thank you Paul,

    1. definitely a bug, fixing
    2. can you please name missing categories? Do items appear with red icon?
    3. it's a bug too
    4. I just tried myself, surprisingly it's empty. Investigating.
    5. setting up PIN is all that you need to be able to use it. I just tried with minimizing and without minimizing window - both times it worked as expected. What build of Windows 10 do you use? Does problem persist after reboot? Are there any pending updates?

@SergeyTheAgile - Many thanks for taking the time to help me.

    1. The missing categories have now reappeared and, like you say, with the red icon. The two categories that have red icons are Bank Accounts & Social Security Numbers.
    2. I'm running Windows 10 Pro build 10586.164. Problem persists after reboot, and there are no pending updates. It's when the app is pinned to the taskbar, opened and logged into, then minimized. After the 1 minute of auto lock is up, and I restore the Window to the Desktop (by clicking the taskbar icon), it asks me for a master password instead of pin. If you can point me at some free screen capturing software, I could make a video of the behaviour if that helps? Also, if I don't minimize the window, but just switch away from the app, pin login works as expected.

I've also noticed that if I do a search for a term, say "Kaspersky" (which brings up 4 results for me), if I click on one of the search results, the search results are then lost, and I am taken back to All Items. I would expect the search results to persist, when I click on one the results. However, I think I've seen this bug reported already so sorry about any duplicate.

    Thanks again, Paul

  • Indeed search context is being lost and that is something on our to-do list, thanks for reminding about that!

I've found that Xbox app in Windows 10 is a good tool to make screen videos, I think it's Alt+Windows+P to activate it and then it's quite easy to get things recorded. But no worries, I was able to reproduce the issue with minimizing window, it came back without Windows Hello for some reason, we are investigating.

@SergeyTheAgile - Thanks again for your quick reply & help. I'm glad you were able to reproduce the pin unlock bug, and thanks for the tip re: making screen capture videos - I'm glad you no longer need specialist software to do this in Windows 10 :chuffed:
