I just wanted to mention that ALL Dropbox users will be auto updated to the current stable client within the next few weeks. As notes By Arash F. of Dropbox.

You all may see prompts for an update asking for your password this is normal for the change to occur, If you would like more info you can find it in the thread I link to below and or the main Dropbox forums.

It is asking for you admin password for the computer you are running it is NOT asking for the Dropbox Password, or any others. The reason the password is needed is for the installer to make the needed changes to the application etc.

Just in case anyone else was wondering as I was: this Dropbox update does not require any change or update to 1Password. I mistook this for the changes in the 1.2.x Dropbox builds which are still in beta. We began supporting the newer Dropbox 1.2.x configuration in 1Password 3.6.0.BETA-30. The latest stable version of 1Password (3.5.9) still works great with Dropbox 1.1.x. :-)

Thanks for the heads up with the OS X authentication prompts in Dropbox though, Tommy! You had me worried for a second. ;-)

As a side note there are changes in place where the next time a MASS update rolls out you should not be asked for the password. Nice Huh....

Also Arash mentioned that updates could be rolled out as often as every 3 months now

This is only for stable builds and not betas by any stretch of the imagination.

Right. And may I note that if you are using the Beta version of Dropbox please be sure to also use a Beta version of 1Password for Mac and 1Password for Windows if you plan to change your 1Password data location.

    Cheers,

Hello Viennaboy and welcome to the Forums!

As you noted, you will need to update your 1Password for Windows application to the Beta version, but the 1P Pro/1P for iPad/1P for iPhone app on your iOS devices does not require any updates.

Please let us know if you have any problems with the transition to Dropbox Beta.

    Cheers!
