So Microsoft is releasing a tool that will allow for conversion from legacy apps to UWP, and I was wondering if you guys had looked into it at all? I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I feel like it could make your lives a lot easier if you could implement it.

  • @burn123 thanks for the suggestion, we've looked at this too :) It's actually old news aired again, last year they announced that https://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Build/2015/2-692 and this year https://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Build/2016/B829

Taking existing Windows app to Windows Store wouldn't make any value to you or anyone else. You can still run the old app in Windows 10. Wrapping it into Store compatible package will also add sandbox around the app and that will prevent some of it's features.

We are making new universal Windows app which runs on variety of Windows 10 devices - desktops, tablets, phones, HoloLens... New app is more suited for the future development, as it accounts for far more goals than previous app design did. There is lot more happening behind the scenes, it's just too early for me to make announcements.
