Expanding all possible login matches

Options

Hey Yall,

So I frequently use many logins with the same base page. I would like to have the ability to see all the correct match w/o having to click. I think you need to enable better matching of the domain. So I have the same 'login name' and multiple URL's like this:
- https://dashboard-cust2.client.inside.in/auth/login
- https://dashboard-cust3.client.inside.in/auth/login
- https://dashboard-cust4.client.inside.in/auth/login
Each uses the same login-name 'admin' .. but a different password. Yet when I get on https://dashboard-cust4.client.inside.in and hit cmd-\ .. all possible dashboard entries come up and i have to go select the correct one by clicking "Show 3 more items". Why doesn't it find the correct entry by matching the URL?

I can somewhat get around this using quicksilver to open the correct entry .. but that seems counter-intuitive. I can send you a santized version of the store if needed.

Hi, @sandinak. Could you double check your 1Password settings in 1Password > Preferences > Browsers and see if you have the "Allow filling on pages that closely match saved websites" checkbox checked or unchecked? The default is for it to be checked and should give the behavior you're looking for.

    Cheers,

    Hi @sandinak,

I believe Jamie is mistaken. Not about how that option works or what it does but I believe the default is that it isn't enabled and that is the behaviour that you want, in other words disabling it should help.

The purpose of the function is to only focus on the domain and ignore if you have a subdomain in the stored URL. When you disable 1Password will prefer a Login item that specifies the correct subdomain and as long as each Login item specifies a URL like you used for the example I would expect that ⌘\ would fill without asking you to choose, assuming each subdomain has a unique Login item. If https://dashboard-cust1.client.inside.in/auth/login had two Login items with that URL 1Password would still ask and I think we'd both want it to.

See if disabling the Allow filling on pages that closely match saved websites option helps, I think it will.
