Windows - changes not saved on lock! [App must not save unsaved edits for you, intentional for now]

If 1Password Windows is locked with an item in edit mode, changes to that item are lost. Very undesirable behaviour!

    Hi @friday,

We do agree, it is undesirable but at the moment, for technical and security reasons, this is intentional. We cannot save your data without your permission and once the app is locked, it must remove all traces of data in the memory to protect your data. When this happens, naturally, the only saved data is the encrypted content on disk, which was never modified.

We would like to store it in a temporary encrypted cache in the future but we've tried this in a way on macOS and it didn't work well either. So, we'll hopefully find something better in the future.

The one good news is that this is likely easier with 1Password.com accounts because we have the item history that lets you undo changes to items by keeping a history of the changes you make per item for a period of time.
