Just dropping a line to say OMG the fix was in the Knowledgebase! So I have a client whom I encouraged to purchase 1Password. She couldn't get it to work. Naturally I thought that this was her computer illiteracy. Not so. The mini-app and browser extensions weren't working. Found the info about adding DNS to web proxy server. That worked! My question is WHY would her computer be set up so that she needed it. She's totally non-geeky - someone might have put something on her computer in the past?? Thanks

@Annamarie Pluhar: Do you mean this Mac article?

Configuring a firewall or proxy on your Mac

    Or the Windows equivalent?

Configure Windows firewall or proxy server

While we can only guess at what might have caused this in the first place, "security" software or malware (often indistinguishable, in the regard that they make changes without notice or consent) does this. But it's impossible to say for certain, so this is just an educated guess based on my own experience with issues like this.

Thanks so much of letting us know that the knowledgebase helped you help someone. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)
