After update to latest 6.5 beta (650038), the option to set a PIN for the Watch app doesn't get displayed for me.

  • Good morning Penelope,

This was a purposeful change on our part. Along with our upgrade to a native watchOS app we've been reevaluating some of its requirements and realized that a separate PIN code for the watch app wasn't necessary:

    • The protections offered to us by the system keychain on Apple Watch do a proper job of storing 1Password items.
    • None of Apple's apps utilize a separate PIN mechanism (not even Apple Pay).
    • We don't allow items to be stored on Apple Watch unless there is a device PIN code set there - meaning you can't ever see these items unless you're wearing the watch and have unlocked it.

I hope this helps, but if you'd like some more information just let us know.

  • @Penelope Pitstop,

Yup, the published documentation always lags behind the beta releases to some extent since most users are using the release version still.
