1Password and Samsung Internet Browser

Hi Team,

Currently 1Password doesn't recognise a number of Android browsers, for example, Opera, Dolphin, Samsung Internet Browser, etc. Namely, when we press the 1Password icon on 1Password keyboard it doesn't find the website credentials but says "No logins found for browser package name" and we have to manually search the credentials and tap on them. It only works fine in Android Chrome.

Is it possible to make it to identify the browser and bring logons straight away like it does in Chrome, without saying that logins are not found? I am particularly interested in Samsung Internet Browser as this is the one I use. Thanks!

  • Hi @Captain_Hook. Unfortunately several browsers, including the ones you mentioned, obfuscate URLs, so 1Password can't detect the URLs of the site you're on, which is why automatic filling isn't available. All we can detect is the browser package URL.

Unfortunately there's no way around detecting URLs if they're obfuscated by the browser, so for the time being, at least, manual filling with the keyboard is the only option with these browsers.

We plan on revisiting filling, and hope to have some news on that front soon! :)
