1Password is not automatically backing up

I switched from your version to the Mac Store version and the program is no longer automatically backing up. I am running version 6.6 on MacOS Sierra. I can manually make a backup using the program preferences.

Thanks, Ron

    Hi rs,

I know about two weeks ago there was an issue with the mac version, nothing security wise, but that they recommended you use the mac version available for download from the agilebits website. I use that version and I have no issues with backing up.

    cheers,

Noticed a similar problem with the non-App Store version.
Had a Notification a couple of days ago and again this morning (Mar 5,2017) that "1Password back up failed".

Attempted to find a 'crash' report in Console without success. I did find that the "1PasswordAgent_65F ... 528.plist" shows it should be showing "crash" reports at ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/1PasswordAgent_2011-12-22-201928__computerName_.crash. However, that plist was last modified Dec 22, 2011! It may or may not be still in use.

I cannot find any log entry when searching for "1Password", much less "1PasswordAgent". However, there is the following entry in the system log area:
    Mar 4 22:02:27 James-iMac com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword4-helper[557]): Service exited due to signal: Killed: 9 sent by loginwindow[123]
    Mar 5 07:13:32 computerName com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.xpc.launchd.domain.user.501): Service "2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword4-helper.8016" tried to hijack endpoint "2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword4-helper" from owner: 2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword4-helper

Searching for "agilebits" in Console, all Devices, I get dozens of 'hits' but I don't actually see "agilebits" in the output. This may be due to reports of the Console app being less than useful after updating to 10.12. >_< Here are some of the (confusing) reports I see when searching for "agilebits":
error 09:36:42.630108 -0600 2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword4-helper Detected missing constraints for . It cannot be placed because there are not enough constraints to fully define the size and origin. Add the missing constraints, or set translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints=YES and constraints will be generated for you. If this view is laid out manually on macOS 10.12 and later, you may choose to not call [super layout] from your override. Set a breakpoint on DETECTED_MISSING_CONSTRAINTS to debug. This error will only be logged once.

  • Hi @rs500cat ,

I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your Mac:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

Attach the Diagnostics Report(s) to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report(s) in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report(s) in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report(s) and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly.

Once we see the report we should be able to see what's causing the backups to fail. In the meantime, making manual backups every so often is a good idea.

    Regards,
    Kevin

  • FYI @rs500cat , I've sent a reply via email. We'll get to the bottom of it.

    Cheers,
