Merging mismatched data across platforms

I have an MS Windows machine running the latest version of 1Password. In addition I have an Apple iPad (also running the latest version of 1Password).

I started off with a synced vault, but as time has gone on, more data was stored in the MS Windows version of 1Password because syncing was failing. However, it is the Apple iPad has the most accurate record of passwords.

If I were to merge the two vaults now, would it merge the latest information from each of the vaults to give an accurate data file? Or would the MS Windows machine simply overwrite any records on the iPad?

    Hi @NickPet,

    Thanks for writing in.

It depends on how you are planning to sync or merge the data. Were you using Dropbox or WLAN sync? If you use Dropbox, it would merge in the latest information only but if you use WLAN sync, it may overwrite the data.

Before you do anything, back up both copies of the data. Here's how: https://support.1password.com/backups/
