cannot open readme.md, AND watch app does not start (maybe since latest watch/iphone update)

Please note: cannot transfer records from datavault to 1password. The "readme.md" instructions are not pdf as advertized.
ALSO the apple watch app will not open--removed app from iphone twice and also rebooted phone. App on watch does not talk to phone, though it does load onto the watch. Have not used this application before the latest ios update and watch update, so perhaps your coders have not caught up with the latest iteration. Please advise

@airightshrinks: What "readme.md" and "pdf as advertized" are you referring to?

Unfortunately with so little information it's hard to say much. It sounds like you're seeing 1Password on your Apple Watch. Do you have the Pro Features in 1Password for iOS? Have you enabled the Apple Watch app in 1Password on your iPhone? Have you selected any items to be added to your watch? What are you seeing when you open the app?

This is the forums for 1Password for Apple Watch. Are you having trouble with something on Windows?

just loaded new update. No joy

What did you update? Which version(s) do you have now?

    Hi @airightshrinks,

I noticed brenty already asked you about this:

Please note: cannot transfer records from datavault to 1password. The "readme.md" instructions are not pdf as advertized.

It sounds like you're having trouble using the DataVault converter that's part of the 1Password utilities. For more help with that, please refer to information in the first post here:

    MrC's Convert to 1Password Utility

    Cheers! :)

Just updated (last week) two latest operating systems: in watch and in iOS. Watch says I need to enter watch password to import passwords etc. and there is no place to enter watch password.

@airightshrinks: Could you please clarify what you're seeing? If it's simpler, take a screenshot or photo of this. To include it in your reply, simply click the document button in the top of the comment field, and select the file you wish to share:

If it helps, you need to have a passcode set on your Apple Watch to use 1Password there, but it isn't necessary to enter it in 1Password, only to unlock the watch itself (if it isn't already). Let me know what you find!

The watch has a password. There is no place on the phone or on the watch to enter the password that is required

Meant to say that with respect to this program one password there is no place to enter a Watch password. Watch is already open, or there would be no access to the programs on the home screen.

    Hi @airightshrinks,

I think we must be getting close to figuring out what's going on and how to get it working, but we're still having some trouble understanding what you're seeing on your end, and what steps you're taking. First, can you please make sure you're following the instructions in this knowledgebase article: Use 1Password on your Apple Watch

Which step in that article isn't working as described, and what happens instead? Please let us know the exact steps you're taking, what you expect to happen, and what happens instead. The more details you can give us about that, the better.

It will also help if you can take a screenshot of the message you're seeing on your Apple Watch (the one about needing "to enter watch password to import passwords"). If screenshots are enabled on your Apple Watch, simply press both buttons on the watch at the same time, and a picture will appear on your iPhone in the Photos app (under Camera Roll). It would be great if you could include that screenshot in your reply (just make sure it doesn't show any personal information).

    Thanks in advance! :)

Thank all of you for your responses. Carefully followed steps on url as above. NO joy. Keep getting same error message on watch that states: "Requires Apple Watch Password"
Above this is the message: "Add items from 1Password on your iphone"

Uninstalled/reinstalled program from phone and still no joy.

    Please advise.

    @airightshrinks,

In order to use the Apple Watch app you have to do 2 things:

    • The Apple Watch itself needs to have a passcode set on it via Settings -> Passcode
    • On the iPhone app you have to go into the items you want to add to the Watch and tap "Add to Apple Watch"

  • @airightshrinks,

I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your iOS device:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (iOS)

Attach the Diagnostics Report(s) to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report(s) in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report(s) in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report(s) and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

    Rudy
