Back up of data

I have a Dropbox account linked to 1Password and it says it syncs data when I press the button but I can't see or find the file in Dropbox to confirm it. I just want to make sure I have a backup of my info/passwords etc. Is Dropbox the best to use for data backup or should I use iCloud?? TIA.

    Thanks for taking the time to write in.

    The best way to store and back up your 1Password data is with a 1Password subscription membership. You can read about the benefits of that here:

    If you'd like to move to that we have instructions available here:

    If you'd prefer to stick with a "standalone" vault (what you're currently using) then I'd advise that neither Dropbox nor iCloud are a backup for 1Password data. They are available as a sync provider, but do not provide backup. For example, if you delete an item from 1Password on your phone that will be deleted from Dropbox/iCloud as well. As such I'd recommend making a proper backup, if you're going to stick with that:

    This would need to be done periodically.
