Good news coming for password manager coming in android O

I have been using 1password for years and love it but when i moved to android from IOS the autofill function was lacking. The first version of android O was released today and it has an awesome new API that can really help password managers.

Autofill APIs: Android users already depend on a range of password managers to autofill login details and repetitive information, which makes setting up new apps or placing transactions easier. Now we are making this work more easily across the ecosystem by adding platform support for autofill. Users can select an autofill app, similar to the way they select a keyboard app. The autofill app stores and secures user data, such as addresses, user names, and even passwords. For apps that want to handle autofill, we're adding new APIs to implement an Autofill service.

I really hope that the 1password team takes advantage of this new API.

@wasgij6 @peri - I see that Agilebits has released a proof of concept for this new Android O feature. It can be seen over at Android Police:

Certainly, looks exciting, and I can't wait for Android O to be released and for Android 1Password to support the new Autofill api. :+1:

@pbryanw We were so excited while reading through the changes in Android O and coming across the Autofill Framework. We had to share our excitement with our users! It's a fantastic solution and it is going to change how we use 1Password on Android. You can read more about this on our recent blog post:

I just wanted to let everyone here know that we've added preliminary support for Google's new Android O filling APIs in the latest betas. Hopefully it won't be far off that everyone gets it once we're finished testing things. And you're welcome to join the beta too if you like. Cheers! :)
