I am really curious because my apps where all purchase via the iOS and Mac app stores.

  • @Steve_H,

    They work the same was as they have always worked then. You install updates from the iOS or Mac App Store. When version 7 is released you'll get a notice of some kind to install version 7, which will be a free download as you're using a 1Password.com membership.

    Did you have any specific concerns?

    Hi rudy, well the only one that really had me curious would be the version from the MAS. As that will be a paid for upgrade, how will that work if it is "included" with 1Password.com?

    @Steve_H,

    With version 6.6 we made it a free download with in-app-purchase subscriptions and standalone (standalone being equivalent to the prior versions that had a price tag associated with them).

    We'll do the same with version 7.

    It'll be a free download, you'll sign in with your 1Password.com membership (it'll actually prompt you to transfer the version 6 data over which will already likely be signed in) and off you go.
