On iPhone X, can’t get out of a note

I added a note. It’s a fine note, but on the X, in a note, there’s no top bar menu. I can’t get out. Killing the app doesn’t even help. I just installed the app today so it should be up to date.

    I haven't personally upgraded to an iPhone X yet, but I just spoke with one of my colleagues who has. He indicated that for him the bar does appear at the top of the screen, which is the expected behavior. I wonder if perhaps somehow things have gotten in to a bit of an odd state? Could you please try rebooting the phone and see if that helps any:

    Ok, that was weird. Yesterday I reinstalled the app to get out of the note, which worked and I used it. Just now when I started it, it gave me a “What’s New” pop up and Notes is fine. It must have been old? And now it’s not?
