The company for which I work requires IE as the browser for some tools. Since there is no IE extension for 1password, I cannot use that to generate passwords for websites. I have tried to find how to generate a password in the Windows app but cannot find it.

My workaround is to use 1password mini in Chrome to generate the password and then copy/paste into IE and then manually create the log-in in the windows app. This is a very clunky workflow.

I would appreciate any help in finding a better solution.

Thanks!

    Hi @BobMc,

    Thanks for writing in.

In the main 1Password app, create a new Login item and then click on the icon next to the password field to generate a new password like this:

Using 1Password mini to create a new password is the current best solution. The problem is that we haven't implemented the Convert to Login button yet in the main interface or mini, so that your new Password item (which is always created when you generate a new password in mini) can easily become your Login item for the site.
