I have a similar problem. The 1password app on my Mac only opens to an old password. I have changed the passwords online but the Mac password has not registered this,

@Trotman: It sounds like you have something other than your 1Password.com account setup in the app. Is that the case? Are you seeing a Primary vault there? If so, the Master Password for that vault will be the one you use to unlock the app. And since local vaults like that are completely separate from 1Password.com, changing your password there will have no effect on it. Let me know what you find.
