When adding a login, how do I know the url and do I enter the http//: also?

Do I enter the complete url (http//:) or can I leave off the beginning?

Mostly you are not expected to enter a login purely manually.

If you go to a site and enter your username and password (possibly as a login, possibly as an initial registration) 1PW should ask you whether you want to create/update your login.

There's a little bit of work if you created the username and password when registering and then need to log in on a slightly different page, but again you are not expected to create a 1PW login item by hand.

  • Hi @ezal,

As danco has stated, ideally we hope you will create your Login items from inside the browser using the prompts from 1Password. The idea is it will attempt to generate an appropriate title, determine what represents your username and password and record the URL. You can of course manually create Login items from inside the main 1Password window if you prefer, it's just we hope people find the extension makes this easier.

If you have any further questions please do let us know.
