  • @atothek,

Editing the one login item and adding additional entries into the websites section would be my recommendation

@rudy is there no "wildcard" setting? Or for the hundreds of subdomain websites I have using either domain1.com or domain2.com I have to itemize each one in the websites section?

  • Greetings @atothek,

Sorry for not clarifying earlier. A single entry per domain will be sufficient as 1Password always allows a Login item as long as the domains match.

There are two scenarios where additional website fields may be useful. The first is if you like to use open-and-fill as that requires the stored URL directly load the sign-in form 1Password is to fill. The second is if you want 1Password to favour one Login item over another when on a specific subdomain. An example might help.

    1. Login A with website field https://www.example.com/login
    2. Login B with website field https://subdomain.example.com/login

1Password will favour Login B if you use ⌘\ on https://subdomain.example.com/login but if you access 1Password mini you can select Login A. If you visit https://subdomain.example.com/login and Login B doesn't exist at all 1Password will use Login A automatically with ⌘\ because there isn't a better match.

    I hope that helps.
