Brief question about the new update 1.12.3 (build #20038) – released 2018-11-12

Options

On https://app-updates.agilebits.com/product_history/B5X I read about it.

Question:
1.What mean "brain" mentioned in { }?
2.Can you give an example of multi-step forms?
3. The new blog post https://blog.1password.com/1password-x-a-look-at-the-future-of-1password-in-the-browser/
only talks about 1P extension for Chrome, right?

Hi, @r1ma! The "brain" is what we call our form filling library. It's the logic that helps 1Password know which field to fill with which value from your items. We're always working to make it smarter. :)

A multi-step form is one where the sign-in process is not completed on a single page. Some sites do this by splitting the username and password across multiple pages. Or you might need to enter your TOTP code after entering your username and password.

A year ago, it was absolutely true that 1Password X was only for Chrome. Now, it works in Firefox and Opera as well. We're still looking at Edge and Safari; those two browsers have some extra special challenges for us, so they will take a little more time.

    I hope this helps!

Thanks @jxpx777 I was wondering if Gmail is one of those sites, a multi step form.
I was reading https://www.ghacks.net/2018/11/01/google-sign-ins-will-require-javascript-soon/ and there, you can find link to

I was wondering if new version of 1P has improved Gmail sign-in process as well or thats not the case here?

Gmail looks like one of those sites, but under the covers, the password field is already there when you're entering your username. So, it doesn't require any additional page loads or Javascript DOM manipulation to get the password field in place, just some CSS adjustments. Both 1Password X and the extension for the native apps should fill great on the Google sign-in flow. Let us know if you have any issues.
