Firefox signin asks for Secret Key, but only accepts capital letters

Options

Trying to setup a new MacBook Pro w/latest osx. When on Firefox trying to get the extension a signin is required. It asks for the secret key which I have, but the signin form converts all letters to capitals. Stymied. Help please.7

    Hi @terrynorbury,

Are you sure you have a 1Password account and you're definitely not confusing the Master Password with a secret key? The reason for asking is if you've been a long term user of 1Password it's very likely in the past you had a licence and a standalone vault(s). With these there is no secret key, only your Master Password. The secret key is very specific to our 1Password accounts which are a subscription based service where we host your encrypted data.

We currently have two extensions, one titled 1Password X and another we now refer to as the companion extension. The 1Password X extension is a standalone extension initially designed to add support for the likes of ChromeOS and Linux. It only works with 1Password accounts though. The companion extension is the one you will have used in the past and it connects to a locally running copy of 1Password. Both extensions are available on our "Downloads - 1Password" page just below the first link for the 1Password application.

Does this help at all or are you still experiencing issues with Firefox and the extension?
