Welcome to the forum, @rlovitz! I'm sorry for the trouble. 1Password 6 for Mac should work on macOS 10.14 (“Mojave”), but you indicated you're using 6.0? Is that correct? If so, that's a very old version of 1Password 6 for Mac -- can you clarify what specific version you're using?

I was thinking of upgrading to 1password 7, but is there a discount for previous users? I've had the family plan since 2016 and paid to upgrade once since then.

@rlovitz - we definitely recommend using the current version of 1Password (version 7). The regular retail price of a license is $64.99, but right now, it's on sale at the launch special price of $49.99.

However, family licenses are no longer sold, as our new product for families is 1Password Families. Do you have multiple family members in your household that use (or want to use) 1Password? If so, you may want to consider migrating to a 1Password Families account. It's got a lot of advantages, but for people with multiple users in a household, one of the biggest is cost. If you've got four people, for example, each one would need his/her own license...and that can get expensive quickly. A 1Password Families account, by contrast, is only $4.99/mo for up to five people, and includes access to all four of our 1Password apps (Mac, Windows, iOS and Android), so even if people have different device configurations, everyone can just install the latest version and go!

If your original purchase of 1Password license(s) was in 2016, you shouldn't have had to pay anything since then, because he didn't have any new version upgrades to 1Password for Mac in that time (until 1Password 7 for Mac, just in May of this year).

I'm also concerned that you can't get 1Password working on your Mac -- what happens when you double-click it to launch (from your Applications folder)? What do the error messages say, and what steps have you taken so far to try to solve this?

There is a copy of part of the error screen that pops up every time. I don't know what that means.
I have actually never used the family license anyway. I"m the only one that uses it.

Thanks @rlovitz. That means you're running an incredibly old version of 1Password (version 3). The version of 1Password you are trying to launch was released in mid-2014. It probably isn't fair to expect it to work on Mojave. :) Please move that copy of 1Password to the trash and download a fresh copy of the latest version:

Ok. I guess I bought it before 2016! so will it still have all my passwords? I'm scared to put it in the trash!

I already downloaded 7 and I see my passwords, so I guess I just need to pay for the membership and then trash the old version?

Also, can I get it back on my phone now?

With a 1Password membership you'd have access to your data on all of your compatible devices using the latest version of the 1Password software by signing into your 1Password.com account. That'd be the best way forward. :)
