I'm unable to reset my shortcuts to use ⌥⌘\

Instead, I get a popup (maybe a system dialogue) that says:

The key combination ⌘C can't be used!
The key combination "Command + C" can't be used because it's already used by the menu item "Copy".

I'm definitely not typing in ⌘C.

    Welcome to the forum, @chandlervdw! Hrm, that's a strange one. I certainly believe that you're not typing in ⌘C...but perhaps you have keyboard modifier/clipboard management software that might be interfering?
