Update to 7.2.5 failing on Macbook Air (2018) running OS X Mojave 10.14.3

I have:

1Password 7
Version 7.2.4 (70204001)
Mac App Store

I'm getting the update notice through the App Store app, and when I click "Update" it downloads 7.2.5. It then says that 1Password7 cannot be open during installation. I manually quit the app if it's running can click "continue." I see that the helper is removed from the menu bar, but in a moment the "1Password7 cannot be open during installation" modal reappears. This continues indefinitely until I give up and click "Cancel."

  • Hi @raganwald.

That's odd. We implemented a fix for that issue in v7.2, so we'll have to keep a close eye out for other reports of this. But for now, please try this:

    1. Quit Safari
    2. Launch 1Password
    3. Press ⌃⌥⌘Q (control + option + command + q) to completely quit 1Password
    4. Try installing the update from the App Store

I suspect it may be the App Extension in Safari that is holding this up. Please let me know if that helps.

    That worked! Thank you.

  • Glad to hear that did the trick. :) Thanks for the update.
