    I am having the same issue on Windows 10 with fully disabled UAC. Was the update released to the beta channel?

    Hi @paulcsiki,

    No, we haven't shipped anything yet, we only found the issue is limited to Windows 7 admin accounts, we can't reproduce anything with UAC disabled on Windows 10.

    1. What Windows 10 version are you using?
    2. Which issue are you seeing; the Do not run 1Password installer with administrator rights or 1Password couldn't finish updating?

    @MikeT I'm running Windows 10 1903 x64, 1PWD 7.3.684. I see the "Do not run [..]" error dialog whenever it tries to automatically update or I try to manually update it.

    Hi @paulcsiki,

    And you're using administrator account with UAC disabled (setting UAC to never notify) or how did you originally disable it?

    @paulcsiki

    Just a FYI; I've split our conversation into its own thread here.

    @MikeT

    I've disabled it from gpedit.msc by setting User Account Control: Turn on Admin Approval Mode to disabled.

    Hi @paulcsiki,

    I did do that but it still shows UAC for me when I ran the installer:

    Here's what I have for my administrator account:

    Could it be that you have this set?

  • MikeT

    Ah, it looks like yes, you have it elevated without prompting. That's probably it, let me test.

    Nope, I still can't see that error, it'll install it right away without UAC now.

    Let me try to match everything you have and see if that'll do it.

    Found the setting and we're looking into it.

    It's this one:

    Thanks, let me know if you need me to test anything.

    Stay tuned, we'll be shipping an update with a potential fix once we finish testing it.
