"open and fill"
I see several posts related to "open and fill" issues from within 1PW. I am seeing problems as well. In my case, open and fill works sometimes but not all the time. When it does not work, it is when Safari is already up and running. When Safari is shut down, open and fill works 100% of the time. If memory serves, Safari may be running and open and fill will work, just not all the time.
I do have the 1PW Extension installed and checked. I believe this problem started when I upgraded to 7.3.1.

@jmb679 - I'm sorry for the trouble! It's going to be basically impossible for us to provide any meaningful assistance or advice without some more-specific information (specific sites and conditions under which this happens). Filling and Saving are always ongoing endeavors to get as right as possible and there are certainly individual sites out there among the vast array of the web that can give 1Password troubles...so there will regularly be posts here from people having trouble saving or filling at various sites. That doesn't usually add up to "1Password is having issues" with filling or saving in general. It can...but usually issues are site- (or conditions-) specific. Try to keep an eye on things, and if you notice it happening, try to see if you can detect a pattern (specific sites, specific conditions). Let us know what you discover! :)

I was encountering the same issues. I have discovered that Opening but not filling occures 3 out of five URL's; Banking indicates an error; Delta Airlines - nothing happens just one blank screen.

I took a quick look at those websites, and a couple of them (number 2 and number 5) do not have a login form at that address, so it's expected that 1Password won't be able to open and fill. Can you try updating those addresses with URLs that do have a login form instead?

My initial post was in July and, as of today, my 1PW for Mac still does not "open and fill" reliably, if at all, for many of my most frequently visited sites. For example, Fairfax Water (https://fwcustomer.org/Fairfax/), Columbia Gas of VA (https://www.columbiagasva.com), Verizon FiOS (https://www.verizon.com/home/myverizon/) and Verizon Wireless (https://www.verizonwireless.com/my-verizon/). Also, the "Fill Login or Show 1Password" keyboard shortcut works only occasionally, even for a specific website. In other words, even for a specific website, sometimes the shortcut works, other times, not. Is there some sort of Preferences setting that I need to review?

Is this only happening with Safari? Have you tried setting a different browser as your web browser? I'd like to try to figure out if the problem is only with a specific browser, or if it extends further than that.
Change the default browser or email client on your Mac - Apple Support

Same open and fill problem with Chrome and Firefox. However, I seem to have resolved the keyboard shortcut problem.

Okay, and what exactly doesn't work? Activating Open & Fill doesn't take you to the desired page, or once it takes you there it doesn't fill the desired item?

It takes me OK to target page but does not populate username and password fields. This is when I use the keyboard shortcut, which is working well at the moment. I noticed that, when I reveal 1PW "pop up" window by clicking on the 1PW icon located on the Safari Toolbar, 1PW does not fetch the target URL login page (in this particular case . . . the login page for Fairfax Water). Rather, 1PW shows my 1PW login for 1Password, which is the first login in my preferred sorting of all logins. So, it appears that 1PW "pop up" window does not recognize that I have navigated to Fairfax Water.

Because the keyboard shortcut is working well right now, open and fill is not a big deal for me. Sort of strange that keyboard shortcut knows that I am on Fairfax Water and populates username and password correctly, yet pop up window does NOT display Fairfax Water login item.

Ok, setting Mini / Open 1Password to "Suggestions" fixed the pop up window symptom. However, still open = yes, fill = no.

Thanks, @jmb679. How does open & fill work for this site (the 1Password Support Forum)? If you sign out and then use Open & Fill to try to log in, does it work as expected? A colleague of mine was able to reproduce the issue with Fairfax Water, so it may be that we're just having trouble with a few of the specific sites that you mentioned. If that does end up being the case I can pass those along to our development team for further investigation. We can see if there is anything we can do on our end to improve 1Password's performance with those sites.

O&F not working on 1Password Support Forum. However, clicking on the Mini AutoFill works as expected.

Keyboard shortcut key stopped working this morning or yesterday. So, I rebooted MacBook Air and this fixed this problem. O&F still not working but Mini AutoFill is OK.

Just tested keyboard shortcut key on Columbia Gas < https://www.columbiagasva.com >. Shortcut failed on 1st attempt. So, I closed Safari and tried again. It failed. I closed Safari again. It worked.
I tried O&F using Chrome. Opened fine, Fill failed. Shortcut worked, then it failed. Then, incredibly, shortcut summoned Mini. On the next shortcut attempt, it worked.
I don't see a pattern. Unintall / reinstall 1Password 7?

I changed "Fill Login or Show 1Password" to Control-Command-P but it failed on 1st Safari attempt. It is likely that it will work if I reboot (or close Safari or some other random action) but then it will stop working.
Hope this helps. Not sure what to do going forward.

Just to note that my primary browser is Safari. I rarely use Firefox or Chrome.

Can you please download the latest version of 1Password 7 from our website and install it? I see that you are a couple of updates behind, and it is always a good idea to be on the latest version of the software when trying to troubleshoot something.

Open works, Fill does not work on this forum and Columbia Gas. Have not tested other sites, yet.
Shortcut working, for now, on Columbia Gas (Safari). For what it is worth, sometimes there is a noticeable lag between shortcut launch and population of username and password.Mini working fine.

If so I'm unable to reproduce the behavior you're describing. Using Safari as my default browser, with Safari closed (quit), I'm doing the following:- Launch and unlock 1Password 7 for Mac
- Navigate to my 1Password Support Forum login item
- Click
open and fillonhttps://discussions.agilebits.com/entry/signin - Safari launches, takes me to
https://discussions.agilebits.com/entry/signin, and fills my credentials
I then tried the same steps with Safari already being opened and at step 4 had the same results.
