1P suggests saving a failed login

Sometimes, when I am logging into a website, 1P will pop up the message:

“Would you like to save the username and password for this site?”

The problem is, it often pops up this message BEFORE the login has been successfully completed.

I hate this, because if I click “Save Login” in the 1P dialog and the site then returns the message that the login was incorrectly entered, i fear that an incorrect entry will then exist in 1P, which will need to be weeded out, lest I have incorrect data cluttering up the app.

Why does 1P not wait until the login is successful before it pops up this message??

Hi there @Cybernettr! Are you using the 1Password extension (desktop app required) or the new 1Password X?

    1Password extension (on Mac)

    1Password X

I am using using the 1Password extension.

  • Thanks @Cybernettr. In that case the popup should remain on the screen until you take action on it, which means you should be able to wait to see that the login is successful before deciding to save it. We don't have a reliable way to have 1Password determine if the login was successful or not as there is no standard way that web pages respond to either a successful or unsuccessful login attempt.
