  • Hey @bwilldorf! Could you tell me a little bit more about the steps you're taking, including whether you're using the older desktop app extension or the newer 1Password X, and what results you're seeing on your end?

I'm using 1Password7 and it says it's up to date. but then the Updater opens and I get the message "Failed to find the version of installed 1Password application". When I go to autofill it fills in the username and password but when I click to sign in it goes to a page that says I can't sign in, so I copy the password and then I'm able to get in. This happens on both Firefox and Chrome.

  • For the updater issue, it sounds like you might be running into an issue where macOS Mojave places recent apps on the dock. The 1Password Updater isn't really its own app, so it doesn't function correctly from the dock. I'd recommend dragging that from the dock to remove it. Then you can check for updates from the 1Password menu > Check for Updates.

For the AutoFill issue, please open your Citi item in the 1Password 7 app, then click the button that says View Saved Form Details. Is the password shown there the same as the password stored in the item details above it? If not, edit the item, then copy the saved password from your item details into the web form details as well. Let me know if that solves things or if your problem still exists.

When I remove the Updater from the dock and go to Check for Updates it automatically opens the Updater in the dock.

When I open View Saved Form Details it has no data in it.

@bwilldorf: I'm not sure what you're talking about. I'm a Citi customer, and it definitely works here -- even if their site has been a struggle at times. Can you provide some details?

    • URL
    • OS version
    • 1Password version
    • browser version
    • extension version
    • exact steps you're taking and what is/isn't happening as you expect

I'm sure we can get your sorted so it works for you too. Thanks!

    URL -- Citi.com or https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/citi.action

    OS version -- 10.14.6

    1Password version -- 7

    Browser version -- Firefox 69.0

    Extension version -- ??

When I autofill I get this page (https://online.citi.com/US/login.do?JFP_TOKEN=K0WHIHVX). Then I copy the password from 1Password and I get in.

    Thanks!

@bwilldorf: Is the problem maybe that you don't have the companion 1Password desktop extension installed in your browser? That would certainly explain why it wouldn't work for you when it does for me, as 1Password cannot integrate there otherwise.

    You can get it here:

    https://1password.com/downloads/#browsers

And this guide will give you an overview of using it:

    https://support.1password.com/1password-extension/

Let me know how it goes. :)

Everything is loaded correctly. Still doesn't work for Citi. Every other login works.

@bwilldorf: Then it's even more important that you tell me the following:

    • exact steps you're taking and what is/isn't happening as you expect

There isn't much for me to go on with "doesn't work": I need to know what you're doing in order to know what you might need to do differently. Please let me know.

If I use the Desktop version I press "open and fill". If I use the extension I press "go". After I press "Sign On" when the username and password are filled in automatically (or even if I copy and paste from 1Password) I get taken to a page that says "Trouble signing on? Select "Forgot User ID" or 'Forgot Password'". Then when I copy and paste from 1Password I am successfully logged in. I have 124 logins and this is the only one giving me problems.

@bwilldorf: Thanks! Please manually save a new login for the site, since that will allow 1Password to save additional information from the form to fill better. Just try these steps to save the login and fill it:

    1. Navigate to the website: https://accountonline.citi.com/cards/svc/LoginGet.do
    2. Enter your login credentials
    3. Click the 'keyhole' icon to bring up the extension
    4. Click the 'gear' icon for Settings
    5. Click Save New Login
    6. Give it a name and Save
    7. Close the webpage and view your new login in 1Password to make sure that your correct username and password are saved (Citi often messes with login credentials you've entered into the page
    8. Make any changes as needed, and save
    9. Go to https://accountonline.citi.com/cards/svc/LoginGet.do
    10. Use the keyboard shortcut -- ⌘ \ -- or click the toolbar button to select your new login to fill it

Let me know how it goes!
