Login for sites with popup-login

Hello
Is 1Password able to login in sites that show a popup window like this site: http://your.hispeed.ch/de/apps/messenger/ ?
I tried it in Firefox 7.0 with the actual 1PW version, but the 1P button didn't react. Also when I filled in the the user/login 1PW didn't open a window to save the new login.
Thanks for your help
Alex

Hey there, taeb3! I am sorry for the trouble.

I tried to test this, but I think maybe I am being redirected to something else, because it is clear that I am not seeing the same thing you are. It sounds like you are referring to an HTTP Auth prompt. Unfortunately, the official Firefox extension framework we are using does not allow access to these. And to make matters worse -- as you pointed out -- they are displayed as 'sheets', which disable the rest of the interface until they are dismissed.

We hope that Mozilla will allow access to these in the future, but in the mean time you can open the extension ahead of time and click the (>) arrow (or press the Right Arrow key) to view the item details to copy them. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully we will have better news for you in the future.
  • Hi, I'm back again from a long trip.

What I see, when I try to connect to the mentioned site you can download here: http://www.tcm-shiatsu.ch/1PW.png

I think many sites use this way of login. The 1PW button can't be accessed, because Firefox is blocked by this popup. Did I understand you right, that this a Firefox Problem you can't change? Thanks for your help.

Yes, Alex, at this time HTTP auth prompts are not accessible to browser extensions in Safari, Firefox, or Chrome. Chrome has shown some indication that this will be available in the future, but it is not known when this might be. I'm optimistic and believe that Safari and Firefox will likely follow suit if Chrome adds the necessary functionality.
