Help!
1 Password 6.8.8
Purchased Oct. 12, 2013
license up to 5 people
Mac mini

I am having problems adding 1Password to a new computer.
I did not complete the emergency kit when I started using 1Password
I have backed up all my passwords to a desktop file and to a DVD.
I have the secret key.
1Password will not open with what I think is my master password.
Isn't the master password the one I always use to open the application?
Would it help to change my password?
What should I do?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Hi @willie!

It sounds like you created a new 1Password account with a different Master Password, instead of using your existing license:

I did not complete the emergency kit when I started using 1Password
    I have the secret key.
1Password will not open with what I think is my master password.
Isn't the master password the one I always use to open the application?

If you created a 1Password account, you can choose any Master Password for it, not just the one you have been using to unlock the 1Password app until now.

For your privacy and security, your Master Password is not stored anywhere, only you know it. This means that it is not possible to recover it unless you are a member of a Families or Business accounts. If you have an Individual account or a standalone license, I recommend reading this article to try and recover your Master Password.

If, on the other hand, you are part of a Families or Business account, you can ask another Admin to recover your account for you.

If you still cannot recover your Master Password, we can certainly delete your account so you can create a new one with a new Master Password you know.
