What is going on? This error shows up on desktop, browser, different computers - the whole thing. Signing in to my work account works perfectly.

Apparently a known issue: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/109773/cant-login-legacyservererror-operation-is-not-permitted - this link even includes how to reproduce it - I can confirm I was doing that when it stopped working.

It is working again now. I would like to know the technicals behind this issue though, it is a very strange bug...

    Hi @theuser,

We are investigating this issue right now. Could you shoot us an email at support@1password.com and tell us more about it and your current setup?

Any info you can share will be really helpful and we will take a closer look at what is going on there. Thank you! :+1:

For the benefit of others, i've been having this for months. Support tell me that this is caused by any one X plugin that has been locked out and is continually trying to login (without any feedback to the user) - perhaps when I moved to using security keys for auth. (I run X in multiple browsers on multiple machines)

The fix (at least for my issue) is finally available but you need to move all your 1Password X plugins to 1.18.2.beta - released a few days ago.
