    Hello Vivaldi team,

    The Chrome extension still doesn't work for Vivaldi on macOS.
    Extension installation works without any visible errors.
    I click the icon of the browser extension
    Accept opening the 1password desktop app
    Desktop app opens, but the webpage in the browser just displays the following message after a few seconds:

    Looking for the 1Password app
    The 1Password app must be installed for the extension to work properly.

    Couldn’t connect to 1Password
    Make sure you have the 1Password app installed.

    The problem with this situation is that I can't get my credentials automatically filled when I'm standing on a login page.
    As a workaround:
    1. I can reveal 1Password desktop with Cmd-Shift-\
    2. Search for the site (which is already open in my browser)
    3. Press enter
    4. New tab opens; hopefully with my credentials filled
    5. Close the previous tab (potentially losing track of navigation history)

    I also can't capture new credentials because of this situation.

    So it's annoying...

    Hi @onetom! Welcome to the forum!

    Can you please let us know what version of the 1Password desktop app and of the 1Password browser extension you are currently running? The Vivaldi browser version would also be useful.

    Thank you!

    @onetom:

    Thank you for the additional information. Where is your 1Password app currently installed? Is it inside the main macOS Applications folder?

    Yes, it is:

    lynx:~ onetom$ ls -lahd /Applications/1Password\ 7.app

    lynx:~ onetom$ brew cask list | rg -i 1pass
    1password

    lynx:~ onetom$ brew cask info 1password

    @onetom:

    Thank you for the confirmation. Can you now try the troubleshooting steps in this documentation page that we wrote? They focus specifically on how to resolve the “couldn’t connect to 1Password” error, so I am hoping they will help you get your Vivaldi browser up and running with 1Password.

    Thanks!

    That mkdir -p ~/Library/Application\ Support/Google/Chrome solved the problem, indeed!

    I didn't know about the Opt-Ctrl-Click for the Quit 1Password Completely feature either.

    I remember I had this issue many many years ago. It's a pity that it still requires manual steps.
    Also, I wasn't able to find these instructions via quick googling.
    It should be mentioned in some more obvious place, I guess...

    Hey @onetom
    Google prioritizes results based on relevance, amount of links leading to said results and amount of views/clicks. This should be an indication that not many people are experiencing the issue you had and therefor did not need this article, so putting it in a more obvious place would do more harm than good for most users.

    We're glad to hear things are working properly for you now! We're here whenever you may need assistance with anything again. :)
