How do I stop 1PX trying to fill in a specific field?

I'm adding new users to a board on Trello, and 1PasswordX is trying to auto-fill the field where I select a user, making it impossible to actually select anyone without disabling the addon. Is is possible to somehow disable it on a field, rather than the entire site?

This happens on several websites and it's kind of getting in the way. Otherwise I love it!

    Hey @codeknight!

    That's definitely not an ideal place for 1Password X to be popping up. Unfortunately there isn't a way for you to specifically say avoid this field (other than letting us know and us fixing it), however there is a slightly better way than fully disabling the extension.

    With 1Password X 1.17 we've added the ability to hide the inline menu for a site temporarily by choosing to "Hide on this Page" (found by clicking Suggestions). This will hide the inline menu on a page until you restart your browser or choose to show 1Password using the right click menu.

    I've filed an issue so we can get Trello squared away for you. You mentioned that it's happening on more sites, would you know which ones? I'd love to get those fixed up too!

    Hi,
    I do have a similar problem with the Gmail-site (G Suite).

    The screenshot is from the German version of Gmail/1Password but I'm sure it's the same in the English version.
    I know I can disable the field until I restart the browser, but in the search field of GMail you probably never have to use 1Password, so you might block it there completely.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hey @martinwinner! Thanks for getting this on our radar. As far as I know, 1Password X should be avoiding search fields already. I can't seem to reproduce this on gmail.com myself. Would you mind right-clicking inside the search field and selecting Inspect? The console should pop up with the HTML for that specific field. If you could take a screenshot of it and send it back to me, that would be helpful!

    @martinwinner – Interesting! I don't see any sign of that field being a search field in the code. I actually think the different language may have something to do with it. To investigate this a bit more, I changed my computer's language to German. The code was a bit different for me, though. The HTML for the field read:

    <input class="gb_bf" aria-label="Search mail" autocomplete="off" placeholder="Search mail" value="" name="q" type="text" style="border: none; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; height: auto; width: 100%; background: url(&quot;data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAID/AMDAwAAAACH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw%3D%3D&quot;) transparent; position: absolute; z-index: 6; left: 0px;" dir="ltr" spellcheck="false" aria-haspopup="true" aria-live="off" aria-owns="gs_sbt50">

    That stands out to me is that aria-label still reads "Search mail." I'm beginning to think there's a specific setting inside Gmail that changes the language. I'll keep looking for it. Just to make sure I'm looking at the same page as you, are you visiting the URL https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox?

    Yes, that‘s the URL I see.
    Maybe the content is a bit different because I use the G Suite from Google (not the regular gmail services)?

    @martinwinner – I actually found the setting that allows me to change my language within Gmail. Once I switched the language to German, the 1Password X icon and inline menu appeared in the search field.

    I really appreciate you getting this on our radar. I'll pass the report along to our developers so we can work on improving the behavior here.

    Hello again @martinwinner! I wanted to reach out to let you know that the 1Password icon should no longer appear in the Gmail search field while the language is set to German as of the most recent 1Password X beta. If you’re willing, you can install the beta in Chrome or Firefox now. If you’d prefer to remain on the stable build, a fix should be making its way to you soon. :)

    Hi @kaitlyn and @ag_ana,

    I'ms orry to inform you, but I again (maybe: still) have problems in Gmail (German version) with the 1password icon which is present in the current version on Gmail.
    I tried it in Firefox and Chrome (both in latest version) and both of the browsers have the icon back in the search field.
    Maybe you sould check that out again?

    Thanks
    Martin

    @martinwinner:

    Can you please confirm what the exact version of 1Password X that you are using is?

    @ag_ana I use the 1.17.0 version. I hope this is the latest version of it?

    @martinwinner:

    Thank you for the confirmation. If you are using version 1.17.0, you won't see the fix yet. From kaitlyn's previous post:

    If you’re willing, you can install the beta in Chrome or Firefox now. If you’d prefer to remain on the stable build, a fix should be making its way to you soon.

    This issue was fixed in the 1Password X beta, version 1.18.1.beta to be precise. Since you are not using the beta, you will see this fix in the next stable version.

    @ag_ana you‘re absolutely right, sorry.
    I thought the the current stable version was already updated within the last weeks. I will have to wait some more to get the update on my system.
