I'm not sure what you mean, melg. Could you provide some more details?

Hey Melg

Not from what I have found so far. I hid the windows discussion group and alas I have not been able to find a way to restore it. my google search hasn't turned up any good results either.

@khad if you go to the main forum page and hover over a topic area and then click on the gear icon that shows up you will find an option to hide the particular forum.

@khad Same goes for my signature there is not an option in the user settings to correct this, Dave gave it a peak the other evening but was unable to see anything either. :(

@melg

The only way I found to see one of the groups once hidden was to know the actual forum name. All I could find was you need to visit the exact url in order to see it. Maybe the team can find a way time will tell.

Here they are:

Announcements = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/general-announcements

Lounge = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/general-lounge

1Password Mac from Agilebits site = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/1password-mac-agilebits

1Password Mac from the Mac App Store = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/1password-mac-app-store

Browser Extensions = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/1password-mac-browser-extensions

1Password for iOS Devices = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/1password-ios

1Password for Windows = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/1password-windows

1Password for Android = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/1password-android

1Password for Windows Phone = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/1password-windows-phone

1Password 2 (Legacy) = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/1password-tiger-and-leopard

Knox Support = http://discussions.agilebits.com/categories/knox-for-mac

ps I had to pull these from my wife's login :( as mine are well hidden :P

As far as I can tell there is not a way to unhide a forum via the UI. You'll need to follow these very convoluted steps.

1. Grab the "Hide" URL for one of the other forums. Don't actually hide it. Just copy the URL for hiding it.
2. Change the value parameter in the URL from 0 to 1.
3. Change the categoryid parameter in the URL to the ID of the category you wish to reinstate/unhide:
6 Announcements
7 Agile Lounge
11 Mac (from AgileBits website)
12 + Website Betas
25 Mac (from Mac App Store)
26 + Mac App Store Betas
14 Browser Extensions
21 + Browser Extensions Betas
9 iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad
19 Windows
13 + Windows Betas
18 Android
20 Windows Phone
5 1Password 2 (Legacy)
17 Knox for Mac

As an example, if you hid the Windows category and your personal key is ABCDEF123456 then this is the URL you would use to reinstate/unhide the Windows category:

http://discussions.agilebits.com/vanilla/category/follow?categoryid=19&value=1&tkey=ABCDEF123456

Note that the category ID is 19 which corresponds to "Windows" in the list above. The value is 1 to "enable" the category. The key is specific to your account and will be different than the one used as an example above.

Cheers!

Thanks for the help thightower and Khad. I made the mistake of seeing what would happen if I hid something. Alas, I lost my Lounge. It's going to take some effort for me to get used to the new forum. [-O<

I did, and it worked. I can't remember the last time I actually typed in a URL that long, but there was a will so...

BTW, so glad the new forum uses Markdown. Makes things so much easier.

You da man khad Fixed me up also. :D

• Hi guys,

I'm glad Khad was able to help you there. I'll pass it on to our forum company to find a way to add this because it is definitely should be easy to unhide just as easy as hiding.

Hey guys,

I was sitting around the house this evening and not much happening here or the Dropbox forums. So I fired up TextExpander and made a snip-it that when invoked will fill in the info above and prompt you to add the category from khad's list above, and you will need your personal key he also references above.

If you don't mind typing the url there is no need for the snip-it, and as far as I know it only works using TextExander 4, and will not work with any earlier version due to the fill in prompts etc.

"http://discussions.agilebits.com/vanilla/category/follow?categoryid=%filltext:name=Catagory_ID%&value=1&tkey=%filltext:name=User_Key%"

Just a sorta passing the time sorta thing :D

It will also make it useful for those of us whom may occasionally wish to hide things again. With an easy undo.

Please note:

1. The info in my post above should only be used with TextExpander as some of the info is directly related to TextExpander and use of it by copy and paste into a browser may yield unpredictable results.

Alas, this Unhide Forum trick only seems to work if the user already has access rights.

I'm not sure what you mean, @benfdc. Is there something you need help with, or were you just commenting that users that don't have access to a private category (i.e. beta versions) can't use this "trick" to get around that?
