importing chrome extension data into desktop app

I recently updated my app and my desktop application doesn't show any data. But my chrome extension still has all my data. I've attempted the method from a link in another post I had found on retrieving the chrome data. chrome-extension://gkndfifopckmhdkohjeoljlbfnjhekfg/data/ui/export_as_1pif.html

So now I have an exported plain text file (backup.txt). The question is when I go to import, it asks for the type of file and doesn't show.txt. I attempt at a CVS or Delimited Text file, but it adds a bunch of blank entries into the app and none of the links work. Do I have to format this document somehow? Please help me out here.

Thanks

Problem solved. I figured out to copy the exported chrome data into a plain text doc and name the exported data file with the file ext being "backup.1PIF". then imported.
