Always have to press return now

It used to be that a command-\ would fully enter the username and password and log me in to a site. Now it just pastes the username and password into the boxes, and I have to press return to submit them.
What happened and how can I get the old behaviour back?

Click the part where the arrow is pointing until it says "Fill and Submit Login"
