I feel like this must be discussed elsewhere, but I couldn't find any information. What happened to all the import options in 1Password 4? Version 3 supported importing from a ton of formats, but version 4 seems to have removed everything but the 1Password interchange format. I assumed this was something that was going to be added later on, but the latest beta reports that it's near-final, and import options are nowhere to be seen…
I've been using LastPass for ages and migrated all my logins to 1Password (4) using version 3's CSV import. Without this feature, I wouldn't have been able to make the switch at all.

Hi, @gordon9293. Export/Import is still considered work in progress. Using 1P3 is a workaround, if possible, like you did.
Does this mean that it will be implemented by the time you do a public release, or is it planned for a future .upgrade?

It won't make it into 4.0 release because we have a hard deadline there. It is one of the top features that are missing and I am sure we'll get it added soon.
Is there an update to this? I am new to 1password and need to switch from lastpass.

My suggestion: export from LastPass to the Firefox password manager, and then import into 1Password 3 from Firefox. When you're done, either clear the Firefox password cache or else password-protect it.
I was looking to move to 1P from LastPass. Why would I switch when it would be so much work reentering data to move.
You don't need to re-enter logins. Export from LastPass to Firefox and then import from Firefox. If you don't want to wait for a 1Password 4 update, you can import from Firefox by downloading a trial version of 1Password 3 for Mac or 1Password for Windows.
It would have been nice if AgileBits had fully implemented imports in 1P4 before release, but at least there are work-arounds.
Yikes, this is disappointing. I wish I had read the discussions before I upgraded. I have been using LastPass (quite successfully) for over a year now, and wanted to delete/update my 1Password file, but it looks like that's not possible at the moment. I do hope it becomes possible in the not too distant future. I'd hoped to give 4.0 a spin and see if it was worth coming back.

You just lost me two different ways.
If you had been using 1Password before, then you should have no problem importing your LastPass logins via your older version of 1Password. 1P4 can work with 1Password 3’s .agilekeychains (it has to because there is not yet full cross-platform support for the new 1P4 database format).
Also, I don’t understand why you see this as an either/or situation. I use 1Password constantly and LastPass often—the two products have complementary strengths, and I would hate to have to do without either one of them (although 1Password 4’s support for multiple vaults may put a major dent in my use of LastPass for secure sharing).
Importing from Firefox into 1Password 3 doesn't seem to work. It is unresponsive and there is nothing in 1Password 3 afterward. Paid money for this thing and there is no clean import option from LastPass. Any advice here?
1P4 4.0.2b1 has a specific import option for LastPass. File > Import > File format > LastPass (.csv).
Note: I haven't experimented with it as I don't use LastPass.

Interesting! I'll give it a whirl when I have the time.

Hi guys,
The latest version should work great with the LastPass import. If you experience any issues, let us know as we'd like to improve it in any way we can.
As I have noted elsewhere in greater detail, 1Password 4.1 imports as logins (with the URL http://sn) LastPass secure notes.

Hi Ben,
Great, thanks! I found it in the regular Mac forum here. We'll figure this out as I think we might have to handle secure notes differently.
For now, if anybody else here still sees an issue, please create a new thread specifically about your issue. I'm going to close this thread since we'd like to have specific threads for specific issues rather than one thread that covers a lot of different issues.
Thank you!
