I have 2 accts--one for FIOS and one for Wireless--I have 2 different login URL's in my main 1PW list with 2 different passwords--this morning I was signing into Verizon FIOS and it asked for more info for new security plan--I selected a picture and it asked me to select a new password--I used the generator and selected "fill" and it went into 2 blanks--when I selected "continue" the little 1PW dialog box showed up for Verizon Wireless--It would not let me change it back to Verizon FIOS --it had a colored background like I had selected it and a checkmark--I made the mistake of moving forward and now I have a new password for Verizon Wireless and nothing for FIOS except shutout of acct!--what a mess--Hank

Hi Drew--just spent 1 hour on phone with Verizon techs looking at my screen--problem is when go to FIOS voice login (verison.com/fiosvoice) and start thru steps it goes to "login.verizonwireless.com/amserver/UI/login" which is for the wireless site and a different company--they are "working on it" and will get back to me--I'll get back to you--Hank

    Hi @TripleHjr,

I was about to answer you in this discussion when I noticed you replied to my question about it in your previous thread. To avoid confusion, I've moved that message into this discussion.

I'm sorry you had some trouble changing a login password! Thanks for updating us on what you found out so far from Verizon. It sounds like the mixup was due to one site redirecting to the other. I've run into similar situations with other companies, so I can relate - it can be really confusing! I hope they're able to help you out with any problems you're having on their sites.

Let us know how it all works out for you, and if you need more help with 1Password, we're here for you! :)

ok Drew--just spent another 45 minutes on phone with FIOS voice tech-using Safari 8.0.6 I go to verizon.com/FIOSvoice to login--put in user name and select "signin"--I then get my security image and a request to change my password with 2 blanks--if I go to 1PW generator and put in a 14 char. alphanumeric and select "Continue" it churns and churns and comes back with "can't process your request at this time" but it shows in upper right corner that I'm signed in! and my acct profile is available--so tech had me do same thing and not use generator and just make up a simple password and it comes up with same "Not able...." dialog--so went to Firefox and put in same way not using generator and proper welcome page comes up--so tech says 'don't use Safari"---new question--if I don't want to use default browser to access a login page directly from 1PW --is it possible?

    Hi @TripleHjr,

Thank you for following up to let us know! That's very strange, and I hope they continue to look into the problem between their site and Safari so it can be fixed one way or another.

if I don't want to use default browser to access a login page directly from 1PW --is it possible?

Opening a Login item from the main 1Password app will always open it in your Mac's default browser, but a workaround would be to open it from the 1Password extension in Firefox instead of from the main app. If you don't already have the 1Password extension installed in Firefox, you can do that by following these steps:

Hopefully that helps! If you need anything else, please let us know. :)

Hi Drew--I'm back after spending 2 one hour calls with Verizon techs--if I put verizon.com/FIOSvoice into Firefox, 1PW works perfectly and I get thru 2 step authentication---if I use Safari the Mini 1PW does not recognize I am at any site sign-in--if I then go to 1PW Logins I can force the first step and get to my Security image and the blank for the password--the 1PW mini does recognize I'm at a Verizon login page but is confused--it shows the password entries for both Verizon FIOS voice and Verizon Wireless (these are 2 separate companies and have 2 different login pages--BUT to confuse things more the URL at top of login page now shows "login.verizonwireless.com/amserver/UI/login"---and only password it will take is wireless password!!that's not where I want to go!!--Verizon tech #1 put his screen viewer program on and watched intently until he said he'd have to punch a ticket and get back--next day tech #2 says if it works with Firefox and not Safari then it's not our software or problem it's a problem on your end!--Frustrated Hank

we had a long discussion--only solved problem with "work around" of inputing info manually--turns out Verizon.com/fiosvoice has a 2 stage login in which the browser goes from the verizon.com login page to a verizonwireless login page for the "residential" customer--so 1PW is totally confused and Mini presents the wireless password for the voice login--Verizon techs say this login page works and is normal--can 1PW techs work on this head fake by Verizon?--Hank

    Hi @TripleHjr (Hank),

Could you help me out a bit please. As I'm not based in the US I haven't interacted with their site before and while I'm happy to test (as much as their site will allow me) it would make sense to ensure I'm looking in the right bit.

If I go to http://www.verizon.com I'm sent to http://www.verizon.com/home/verizonglobalhome/ghp_landing.aspx and I have three options.

If I click on the Go To Wireless option that sends me to http://www.verizonwireless.com/?intcmp=VZ-GHOME-D-WIRELESS. Now while there is a sign in window there, with a little investigating it's actually displaying the following web page https://login.verizonwireless.com/amserver/UI/Login. Once I have visited http://www.verizonwireless.com any attempts to go back to http://www.verizon.com redirect me back http://www.verizonwireless.com and I had to clear the browser to get it to pack that behaviour in.

If I instead click on the Go To FiOS & More option I'm sent to http://www.verizon.com/?lid=//global//residential and the sign in window seems to point to https://www.verizon.com/foryourhome/MyAccount/ngen/upr/signin.aspx?session=n&goto=null

So I'm wondering a couple of things.

Are those two options I've talked about above the ones you need to use and need to have work in 1Password?

If they are I'm wondering what happens if you try the following. Now it may not work as I cannot test this at all but it might too

For your wireless account, can you try opening a tab at https://login.verizonwireless.com/amserver/UI/Login and see if you can create a Login item that works there?

For your voice, which I'm thinking is the FiOS & More option does trying the same at https://www.verizon.com/foryourhome/MyAccount/ngen/upr/signin.aspx?session=n&goto=null work?

Now those two are completely separate URLs so a Login item for one shouldn't appear for the other unless they're both doing something very funky that I haven't seen just yet.

In both cases, it would mean you wouldn't want to use http://www.verizon.com any more for logging in. Instead you would want to either bookmark both of those URLs and title them accordingly or possibly make use of our open and fill feature. There are two ways to use open and fill.

    1. In the main 1Password window, when you're view a particular Login item you will see the website field. If you click on that it will open a new tab in your default web browser. It will load that URL and then attempt to fill in using this Login item.
    2. Normally when you bring up 1Password mini inside your favourite web browser it will show you only items that will work on the open page. If the tab that is open is a blank one or if you start searching then 1Password mini will show you anything in your vault that matches. So say I've created two Login items, one for each of those Verizon URLs. I open 1Password mini but the open web page is these forums. Initially it will show me my AgileBits Login item for here but without using the mouse at all, if I simply start typing the word verizon then it will show those Login items. Selecting one of them and pressing enter will also cause open and fill to happen as I can't use that Login item on the open page.

So there's a lot in there to read, digest and possibly to correct me on too  Hopefully we can find something that works once you've helped me understand Verizon's website a little

Thank you for answering and I will print out your ideas and try when I have more time--but you missed the initial problem--I am instructed by Verizon as a FIOS customer (this is fibre optic cable all over the state of NJ and to every home--no copper) to login via "verizon.com/fiosvoice" which is what starts the problem and I spent 40 minutes with your tech Greig Allen on June 8-I was asking if the 1PW techs had worked on my problem-

    Apologies for misunderstanding @TripleHjr,

I'll need to confer with Greig on the Monday as going over the notes it seems as if his assessment was that 1Password was filling and that the issue was with Verizon. Saying that, I won't know for sure until I actually speak with him. I'll report back with what I learn.

    Hi @TripleHjr (Hank)

I've had a chance to talk to Greig now. What I've been told is that when you log into your Verizon account you receive an error that there is an issue with your account. I'm being told that error occurs regardless of whether 1Password is involved in the logging in process. Is this the error that you're enquiring about?

Greig left me with the workaround --the problem is when I use 1PW to fill in the blanks--if I do it manually by getting proper password out of main 1PW list, copying it, and pasting it--it lets me into my Residential FIOS Voice acct--as to your last yesterday, I have no problem with Verizon Wireless and 1PW----I just used your suggested URL for fios voice and 1PW mini gave me Verizon Fios Voice which worked for 1st stage of entering my user name--when taken to 2nd stage it still gives/uses URL of https://login.verizonwireless.com/amserver/UI/Login which confuses 1PW and mini then gives me VerizonWireless !! which is wrong password--as I said before Verizon techs said this URL was perfectly normal!!??--can't seem to be able to get any software people to interface with--Hank

    Hi @TripleHjr,

I'm seeing if I can find anybody on the team that is a Verizon customer but so far no joy.

    I do have one thought.

At the moment you have two separate Login items, one for wireless and one for FiOS and as you say, the issue is that eventually you are led to a URL you have only associated with your wireless Login item. Now we can't control how Verizon decide to design their website but we can tweak your FiOS Login item so that it is offered as a potential fill for the second page.

    1. Open the main 1Password window and select your Verizon FiOS Login item.
    2. Click on the Edit button.
    3. Currently you should have one website field with a URL in it and in edit mode you should see the option for adding another URL in a field titled website 2, just under where it says website.
    4. Paste the following URL in there https://login.verizonwireless.com/amserver/UI/Login.
    5. Click the Save button.

Now you will need to make sure that your two Verizon Login items have distinct titles e.g. Verizon - FiOS and Verizon - Wireless or similar as any time you now visit https://login.verizonwireless.com/amserver/UI/Login 1Password won't automatically fill one Login as it can't say for sure which you want to use. Instead it will offer up a menu of these two options and you can select the one you wish to use. This way, even if you start at http://www.verizon.com/fiosvoice and get redirected to https://login.verizonwireless.com you will still be able to use your FiOS Login item.

    Does that help at all?

Just to be sure where we left it--I have work around to go easily to Verizon wireless site and sign in with 1PW--then I select "Residential" and it presents a sign-in--I cannot use 1PW cuz it rejects whatever is put in user name--so I put it in manually and get sent to 2nd stage of authentication where I have to put in the plain language password I currently have manually---then it lets me into our FIOS voice acct--Hank

    Hi @TripleHjr,

    Can I just confirm,

I have work around to go easily to Verizon wireless site and sign in with 1PW

So you've logged into some part of Verizon using 1Password and that works and then after that

then I select "Residential" and it presents a sign-in

So after you've already done some sort of authentication with Verizon, you then select an option titled Residential and you then have to log in again, straight after already doing it once and it is this second login that is failing?

Just trying to make sure everything is straight in my head, hope you don't mind.

Sir--remember that residential and wireless are 2 different companies with 2 different web sites so they say---of course, you might ask why does wireless have a tab for "residential"?--and I don't know--when I go to residential I am presented with the whole 2 stage sign-in thing again--and 1PW doesn't work--site returns error message, "can't figure out who you are, try again later'--but later same thing happens but able to log in manually-too bad you don't have any techs here in NYC metro area--

    Hi @TripleHjr,

Can you help me understand a bit more please.

So you log into Wireless (that bit works) so that you can gain access to this Residential button. Where does this Residential button take you (in terms of a URL) and are you saying logging into login.verizonwireless.com is necessary? By that I mean what happens if you visit this other URL first, bypassing login.verizonwireless.com. Can you visit it and does it behave the same way compared to when you do things as you normally do?

ok--if I use Safari and try to use 1PW it goes into a loop (gear turning)--if I use Firefox and the mini and select FIOS voice I go to sign in--use the mini and insert user name and it goes to 2nd stage and asks my security question--first car--then it goes to 3rd stage and shows my security animal image and asks for password--use mini again but copy and paste and voila! --I'm in--Hank
