iCloud sync error

Today I made a change to one of my passwords and updated iPassword on my iPad. I checked my iPhone and noticed the update was not there. I did check several times, making sure both the iPad and iPhone had indicated several iCloud syncs over a period of an hour or more. So I decided to turn off iCloud sync on the phone and then turn it back on. When I tried to turn it on again, I received an error "The operation couldn't be completed. (CKErrorDomain error 4.)"

    Update: my iPad was updated to the latest version of 1Password released last night/this morning; the iPhone wasn't. I just updated the iPhone and tried to turn on iCloud syncing. This time it worked, including the updated password I changed earlier.
