create a private vault with separate password

Ive been using 1Password for Mac for a couple of years, mostly great stuff.
Offline, no cloud, and I emphatically want to stay that way.
I've decided I would like to keep some items in a separate vault that requires a separate password, so that knowledge of my 1P master password is not sufficient to access this special vault. I hadn't tried that before, I just assumed that was the property of separate vaults if they are created with different passwords. I just tried it and apparently not,

Is there any way to configure !Password to do what I'm trying to accomplish?
Think about the equivalent of encrypted disk images with different passwords.
I'd rather not have to log in as a different Mac user, just supply a different password.

  • Hi @oldnparanoid,

Unfortunately it isn't. While those separate vaults do have a password associated with them, the current functionality in the app is such that the primary vault and master password are given unlock keys for those vaults.
